Lifting Operation Supervisor

Introduction

The Lifting Operation Supervisor Course is designed to equip supervisors and safety professionals with the knowledge and skills to oversee safe lifting operations, in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1400 and ASME B30 standards. This program covers crane and rigging safety, risk assessment, and supervisory responsibilities. Through theoretical instruction, practical demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises, participants will develop the expertise to manage lifting operations, prevent accidents, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Course Objectives

• Understand OSHA and ASME standards for safe lifting operations and supervisory responsibilities.
• Identify hazards associated with cranes, rigging, and lifting equipment.
• Learn to develop and implement lifting plans and risk assessments for safe operations.
• Develop skills to supervise lifting operations, including crew coordination and communication.
• Explore the inspection and maintenance of lifting equipment, such as cranes and slings.
• Gain knowledge of emergency response procedures for lifting-related incidents.
• Understand the importance of training and competence for lifting operation teams.
• Learn to document lifting plans, inspections, and incidents for compliance.

Assessment

A 30-minute multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam and a practical lifting plan development and supervision exercise.

Certification

Lifting Operation Supervisor Certificate issued by ACSGP upon successful completion.
