Introduction
The Powered Industrial Trucks Course is designed to train operators, supervisors, and safety professionals in the safe operation, inspection, and maintenance of powered industrial trucks (PITs), such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178. This program covers hazard recognition, safe operating practices, and stability principles. Through theoretical instruction, hands-on training, and practical evaluations, participants will develop the skills to operate PITs safely, prevent workplace injuries, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Course Objectives
- Understand OSHA standards for powered industrial trucks and operator responsibilities.
- Identify hazards associated with PIT operations, including tip-overs and pedestrian interactions.
