Rigging Safety and Load Handling

Introduction
The Rigging Safety and Load Handling Course is designed to train riggers, crane operators, and supervisors in safe rigging techniques and load handling practices, in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.251 and ASME B30 standards. This program covers sling selection, inspection, and rigging configurations. Through theoretical instruction, hands-on training, and practical exercises, participants will develop the skills to prevent rigging failures, ensure load stability, and maintain regulatory compliance during lifting operations.
Course Objectives
- Understand OSHA and ASME standards for rigging safety and load handling.
- Identify rigging hazards, such as sling failures and improper load attachments.
- Learn to select and inspect rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, and hooks.
- Develop skills to calculate load weights and determine safe rigging configurations.

Assessment
A 30-minute multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam and a practical rigging configuration and load handling exercise.
