Introduction
The Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Advanced course builds on foundational spill prevention training, equipping environmental coordinators and facility managers with advanced skills to develop and manage SPCC plans referencing U.S. federal oil spill prevention regulations (40 CFR Part 112). This program covers complex spill prevention strategies, response planning, and compliance audits. Through theoretical instruction, case studies, and practical exercises, participants will gain the expertise to minimize environmental impact, support compliance, and strengthen spill prevention programs.
Course Objectives
- Understand advanced SPCC requirements for oil-handling facilities (40 CFR Part 112).
- Identify complex spill risks and vulnerabilities in facility operations.
- Develop comprehensive SPCC plans with advanced containment and secondary containment strategies.
- Conduct detailed spill prevention audits and inspections.
- Apply advanced spill response techniques, including containment and recovery.
- Navigate regulatory reporting workflows and coordination with relevant authorities.
- Design and deliver training and drills that improve SPCC program effectiveness.
- Maintain detailed SPCC documentation and compliance records.

A 45-minute multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam and a practical advanced SPCC plan development exercise.
